Itinerary help for 3 weeks Austria and Switzerland

We're flying into Munich the end of May and out of Munich in early July. We will have about 3 weeks for driving through Austria and Switzerland and would like input on where to go/what to see. We have been to both Austria and Switzerland but it's been several years so we're open to all suggestions. A little background: we're active seniors, enjoy walking but no strenuous uphill mountain climbing. We enjoy scenery, museums, local festivities, historical walks, concerts and are open to other suggestions. We're not serious "foodies" so we don't need recommendations for gourmet dining but would appreciate suggestions for good, local restaurants. Thanks for helping with our plans.

Hmmm ! That seems more like 5 weeks not 3. Please clarify.

I found the Michelin Green Guide particularly useful for planning my time in Switzerland. I also got a lot of great advice here; click on my name to find my planning threads.

To clarify - we'll spend several days in and around Munich on both ends of the trip, leaving around 3 weeks to travel in Austria and Switzerland.

Of course, you'll be advised to visit the Berner Oberland for the mountain scenery. Beyond that, I heartily recommend dipping your toes into the northwestern and french-speaking towns of Solothurn, Fribourg/Biel/Neuchatel/Gruyeres. I spent a week in Solothurn this past September..a lovely baroque town with numerous old fountains, along the river, good train connections, a beautiful hermitage reached after a 20 minute walk through woods with waterfalls.... Still have to post my TR, but a wonderful contrast to the mountains. Read up and see if these castles, chocolate factories and river cruises stoke your interests.
