Italy Trenitalia Strike
Hi,
It looks that some of the Trenitalia's personnel will be on 24 hour strike starting at 21:00 on September 20th. We need to get from Rome to Florence on September 21st in the evening. According to Trenitalia website there are no trains scheduled after 21:00 on September 21st.
I understand that there is always some essential service during Trenitalia strikes. However, I am not able to find out what essential trains from Rome to Florence are operating during the strikes. I don't know Italian and the Trenitalia's English version doesn't list the essential trains from Rome to Florence.
Does anyone know how Trenitalia operates during the strike? Is it correct that there is always essential service? Also, what are the essential trains from Rome to Florence? Any information will be very helpful.
Thank you very much.

The strike proof trains are generally during commuting hours (usually around 6-9 and 18:00-21:00).

This doesn't make sense. Did you mix up your dates? I see trains after 21:00 listed on Sept. 21.

I think you've misread something. The strike is listed as beginning Sept. 20 at 21:00 and ending Sept. 21 at 21:00.

If you need to leave earlier on the 21st, you would have to take one of the strike proof trains. Another option (if the trains are all booked)is take the SITA bus to Siena (the rapid bus takes about 70 minutes and runs about hourly -8€) and change to the Sena bus to Rome (10 departures daily - 3 hours - 24€).
