Would love feedback on our plans for next month. We are flying into Dublin arriving Sunday march 16th and will be staying there for two nights......Then headed down and have booked a night in cashel on tues.......our next reservation is in Tralee at the castle on thursday and then we wil lhead to Ennis friday night before we fly out saturday. Any suggestions on where to book wed or if we would be ok to just find a b&b that day......we plan to go to blarney castle as well as maybe drive the ring of kerry or partial. Its a short trip so just trying to make the most of it! Suggestions on pubs etc to go to in Ennis or tralee or Cashel would be great !

Blarney Castle and Ring of Kerry narrow things down to Killarney or Kenmare after Cashel and before Ballyseede in Tralee.

Our bar of choice in Ennis is Brogans but there are lots to chose from in town,JJ Feehan's is a good option in Cashel but again there are others. Can't help you with Talee but if you opt for Killarney (Sunnybank Guest House?) then O'Connors and Tattler Jacks should tick the boxes.

Awesome. So many places! I read on a diff site Brogans is recomended as well. Would you pick Killarney to stay in with our schedule? I read somewhere ( i dont remember where) that they would choose a diff town......Seems like everything else easy to narrow down but the southwest i just cant decide.

In Summer Killarney gets busy but the town is big enough to avoid the tour bus troops and mix with a good % of locals. In March town will be quieter but still enough going on. Kenmare is generally quieter.

You can leave Blarney, skirt around Cork, and take the coast road through West Cork to Kenmare. The next morning you can head to Tralee via Killarney. The stretch between Kenmare and Killarney is lovely and part of the ROK.

Thank You Tony2phones and allisonm !! Sounds like some good ideas....now hopefully we get the hang of shifting and driving on the left ! Also...we were going to forego the GPS and go old school with a map and some printed out google directions.....does that sound doable ?

I don't posses a Sat Nav any more, gave it a charity shop years ago after only a short use.. Kept sending me miles out of my way. Thing is you need up to date maps on your system and a map to back up or you might waste 1/2 your journey on the (logistically) wrong route..

Gotcha......we arent opposed to getting lost and taking the scenic route so figured we could put that money to better use then renting a garmin.......we are trying not to be too techy and just unplug that week. However I thought of using skype with the free wifi to check in with the fam since we wont be using a phone that week. So now to get the adaptors etc. Planning on Kilmainham Goal in Dublin. Been there ?

Part of the Family History that place,, Yes a good spot to visit and informative if you get the right guide.. get there early though as there tend to be queue's to get in rather than out these days..

Ah nice! Gotta love family history! So much to do in Dublin it will be hard to pick and choose....having the festival going on will be quite entertaining im sure. We didnt buy the seats for parade as we thought would be fun to just walk around. Its coming so quick! I cant wait to be there
