Ira's Off To France

All our bags are packed, we're ready to go...

We're leavin' on a jet plane...

AF 307 to Paris at 21:35.

Thanks to all who have helped us plan this trip.

We fly into Bordeaux for a few days, then off for a motor trip to Carcassone, Albi, Gorges du Tarn, Figeac, Cahors, Beynac for most of a week and then train to Paris out of Libourne.

Trip report when we return.

If you get the chance, please stop by and make sure the house martens have fled the premises in St-Cirq.

Don't stint on the foie gras!

Bon voyage, Ira! We're counting on a good trip report and photos, as we're planning to cover similar ground next June.

Have a superb trip. We will be in France about the same time, but in Burgundy/Franche Compte. It is comforting to know that you are there, gathering experience to be an even better mentor on Fodors.

We need to thank you for all your assistance on this thread while prepering for our trip -- not so much for the factual information, but for your always positive and good humored attitude.

Have a wonderful trip Ira. I've been meaning to let you (and others) know how much I've appreciated all the wonderful advice given in this thread - so useful in planning our trip to Paris and Italy. We leave NEXT Tuesday for Paris, Umbria, Positano, Capri and Rome - shaping up to be a trip of at least our lifetime - so far.

Thanks again,

KC

I hope you and your LW have a wonderful trip.

I can’t wait to read your trip report. I am sure that some details on foie gras and French pastries will be included in your report.

Have a good time.

Bon voyage, Ira. I am really looking forward to re-living my trip vicariously through your descriptions, although it will be a shame to read about all the great places (and restaurants)we missed.
