Ipod travel speakers-recommendations please
We have a trip planned to Spain and France this fall...I just decided to get my husband travel speakers for his Ipod for Father's Day. Any recommendations? Price is not a huge problem but would like to keep it under $200.

Are you close to a Mac Store. They have several portable units to choose from. If not, then you can go on-line and order one from the Apple Store.
http://www.apple.com
i-P23 Portable Speakers Roxy Edition
Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere
iHome iH27 Portable Speakers
All are well under $200.
The Bose® SoundDock® Portable Digital Music System is a whole lot nicer, but so is the price.

We just took a trip and rented houses/apartments and used my little speaker.
I only turned it half way. If you turn up the volume on your iPod to its full volume, then the volume on the speaker will be louder, too.
Oh, the price? $30
I'm very happy with its performance.

Hi caroltis,
I just bought the Bose portable SoundDock and am totally amazed (I bought it because I'm anticipating a long stay away from my stereo . . ). That is the sound that truly fills the room! It is dual-voltage, so you don't have to worry about batteries.
It's not very large, but it is heavy, much heavier than I would have thought. So that might be a consideration for you.
And yes it is expensive, but if it is a consideration, you can buy it directly from Bose and have the payments broken up into as many months as you like.
Before the Bose, I had used a smaller and lighter Panasonic set of portable speakers that cost around $30 -- no comparison really.
Hope you find the right set!
