In Copenhagen for 3 days work, what is feasible travel before/after?
We will be in Copenhagen June 24-26(non-negotiable). My question has two parts:
1. My husband will be training from morning to night (including mandatory networking and cocktails). I will be left to figure out what to do on my own for that time. Are there any suggestions as to how to fill my days? Where to eat, must sees, shopping, what to wear, things I need to reserve or buy in advance?
2. We have a flexible schedule before and after for traveling in and around the area. He wants to see Germany. I want to see the UK, Italy, France, or Switzerland. Working with 8 days, what can we expect to reasonably see? I do not expect to go to all the places on my wish list, but at least one. What are your suggestions on where to go first? Can we fit some of Germany and one of my destinations in the amount of time we have? Should we consider adding a few days?
I have only left the US one other time. I went to Spain from Germany while visiting my brother who was stationed there. I had a great time in Spain and only flew in and out of Germany. Very excited and would like to know what else I get to look forward to! Thanks for your well traveled advice!

8 days = 3 days in Berlin and 3 days in Paris, plus whatever is not taken by travel time. Look for cheap flights between Berlin and Paris.

for cheap flights within Europe
www.skyscanner.net
www.whichbudget.com
Be AWARE of budget flight luggage and carry-on restrictions
As one possible alternative there are very comfortable night train services from Copenhagen to Paris and Switzerland among other points

Hi,
I recommend a visit to the Louisiana Art Museum just north of Copenhagen. Easily accessible by train, very frequent departures and travel time is approx 30 minutes. Get on a train towards Helsingør and get off at Humlebæk. The museum is interesting and is set in a very nice location overlooking the Øresund (the strait between Denmark and Sweden).

You could travel by night train from Copehagen to Köln (Cologne) and then on to the Mosel Valley, perhaps to Bernkastel-Kues. (link: http://en.bernkastel.de/)
From there you can continue to Paris or Switzerland.

I appreciate all the feedback I have received! Plans have been a little more set. Soooo, we still have our 3 days in Copenhagen and then we will be traveling through Austria and Germany only. We will have 7 days for these places! Very excited and any trip recommendations for the places we are going will be very well received!
