I'm watching French tv on new software.
My husband downloaded a new program to my Mac. It's called cocoaJT. It has tv and radio stations from all over the world. It's free sofware. Now I need to know your favorite French tv station so I can tune in.

I listen to Nostalgie, also -- some of their stuff is old French and some of it old others. It's not just in Paris, though, I think it's a canned network that is throughout France (I know I've listened to it down in Languedoc area). For TV, it just depends on the programs. I think most of French TV stinks, but like some of the documentaries on ARTE, then probably channel 5.

loisco, this is SOOO COOL! Thank you for alerting us to this. I've just downloaded it and have an Italian program playing right now.
Anyone else with a Mac who is interested -- go to http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/26057

P.S. Since I am the software expert in this house, and my husband just got stumped on what to do when he downloaded CocoaJT to his computer (it has no instructions), here's what you do, in case anyone else needs it.
After you download the software, it will eventually pop up an icon that looks like a monitor with a satellite dish. Just drag that into your applications folder and double click to run it. Note that you do need to have Real Player installed on your Mac to make it work. You can get that from www.real.com, and make sure you click on the Free icon.

www.rte.ie has four Irish radio channels, including one of classical music called Lyric.fm. It also lets you look at some Irish TV programs, including many episodes of Nationwide, which covers interesting stories of rural ireland.

I don't understand most of what you lot are talking about. I would love to watch more French TV (though we get quite a lot of French RDI on Canadian cable). But I don't know how to "drag" anything to my "applications folder". Bummer, man. I will just turn on my 8 track instead.

Tedgale – If you want to watch just videos of today’s news, click on this URL:
http://videojts.france2.fr/
You have a choice of which newscast to watch, morning, noon or evening. Double click on your choice and it will take a couple of minutes and voila.
I have tried the above mentioned program but I am not getting good images.
