ICELAND DAY 2 and 3!

I just posted Day 3 to the blog. MAN! Vik is a rainy place! LOL! having said that I really hope all of you get to experience Iceland. It is such an amazing place. It seems everywhere is open and accessible. You can crawl all oer the country!

Welcome to Fodors. Just a hint to help you and others -- instead of starting a new thread for each day/part of your trip report, it is much better to add each installment to the original thread. That way people can read the whole thing w/o having to hop around and search for the other parts.

nice blog and great pics.

I'm interested in how you chose to organise your itinerary - up to Grundarfjörður and then down to Vik - where next I wonder?

BTW, you make some very good points about car hire insurance in Iceland. comprehensive is the way to go. We were also offered insurance for the underneath of our car, and every time we went over a bump, I rued refusing it. Luckily we escaped without any damage but my heart was in my mouth several times.

Great blog, and I really love the pictures. Also, all the good tips about car insurance and boots.
Do you remember, how long did it take to clear customs and get your bags in Reykjavik?
