How to get to airports of Rome Ciapino and Girono Barcelona?

I'm trying to re-book flight from Rome to Barcelona with www.ryanair.com
but I'm not too sure how difficult to get to these airports - Rome Ciapino and Girono Barcelona?

How long does it take from the city to the airport for each?

because I've found the time is very strange. I can only choose 6:25 in the morning or 20:00 at night.

I just worry that if 6 in the morning would be too hard to take public transport to the airport.

as well as if it's too late to arrive at Barcelona, it will be too late to check in.

any advice for me?
thank you!!

Terravision runs a bus service for Ciampino for about $8. Also check the airport websites as they usually have transportation info. www.terravision.it
and www.adr.it for the Rome airport.

Check Ryanair's website because I believe they work with a local bus company to provide a bus service from Girona to downtown Barcelona and vice versa. I believe there's info about this one their website.

Here's the link to the bus schedule from Barcelona to Girona. The schedules correspond to incoming and outgoing Ryanair flights.

A lot of people who take those very early flights stay overnight at the airport. I would not find that fun, but I suppose it's an option.

Truthfully, I wouldn't find this a safe option, unless I just didn't sleep.

You can get a 4:30 AM bus from Terravision at a stop near Termini. I haven't been there, but I don't personally like the idea of hanging around in that area at 4 in the morning. Maybe someone else can comment if it's a safe choice for a solo woman.

Maybe you could get a hotel with 24-hour check-in in Barcelona.

Forget Ryanair and go to:

www.vueling.com

They're super cheap as well and fly at civilized hours from Rome FCO and Barcelona BCN (not Girona, which is not Barcelona at all actually).

Hope this helps,
Andre

Andre, I've posted about vueling.com in another post. Have you flown with them? How reliable are they?

Haven't flown Vueling, as they don't serve Switzerland (yet), but heard good things about their operations and according to their website they're well-funded. So definitely worth a try vs. Ryanair's much poorer product on this route (I'm refering to their scheduling and the airports they use).

Hope this helps,
Andre

Thanks, Andre...I was trying to book the same Barca to Rome trip on Ryanair, but the flight times were horrible. Vueling's departure times are so much better. They aren't as cheap as Ryaniar (who is?) but $100 round trip is very reasonable.
