How many Holy Grails ARE there, anyway?
Here, in Valencia, Spain, the Church claims to have it.. and now messing around looking at Lake Como area I see they ALSO have one

Really? The CHURCH claims that?
Or there are people in Valencia saying they think they might have the Grail? Whatever the Grail is supposed to be.
The Catholic Church has spent practically every waking moment since the Galileo trial making sure it never again asserts a matter of fact that can be later demonstrated to be nonsense. (Many cynics, of course, will argue that's because it's asserts more than enough matters of judgement that are nonsensical).
If the Archbisop of Valencia really does allow his priests to claim a cup or plate is THE - well, whatever the inventors of the Grail fantasies claim the Grail was - his job won't last very long once Rome finds out.
Incidentally, one of the few interesting insights in the Dan Brown books, and the books by others he's lifted his ideas from, is the theory that the Holy Grail (Saint Graal) cult came from a misunderstanding of the common Catholic cult of the Precious Blood (which he claims might have been called the Sang Real).

Well.. Not sure who is running the Cathedral nowadays, but whoever they are, they do claim to have the authentic grail and historians seem to back them up.

someone once calculated that if you brought all the pieces of the "true cross" together, that you would have enough wood for a lumber yard. I know where I would start looking for the Grail, if I was so inclined, which I am not, but I won't say!!

They don't
1. The Holy Grail ISN'T the cup used by Christ. The term is used for dozens of different things - from the body (or womb) of Mary to the Precious Blood - and the Last Supper cup is only one of those dozens. It may be that in Spanish "Santo Cáliz" means only the Last Supper cup: but if so,it shouldn't be translated "Holy Grail"
2. "es completamente verosímil que este hermoso vaso estuviera en las manos del Señor" is not an assertion that the cup concerned is the Santo Cáliz. It's a classic Catholic formula meaning "we're absolutely not claiming the object concerned is anything other than a medieval forgery - though if you ask us, that's probably what it is. But we're not saying it's a forgery either, because if we did it'd upset all the little old ladies. And the local Tourist Board would be annoyed"

Actually, towards the end of the series, Stargate SG-1 found it and used it to help build a machine to kill off evil ascended beings in a different galaxy. But that one is now in a galaxy far, far away, so we'll never get to see it. Unless you watch reruns.

Fair enough. Thanks for your thoughts... but are there any additions to the list people have seen? Just curious, as I said from the beginning. I really have no interest/energy to argue about this.. or translate the websites any further. As a non-catholic, was just curious.

Actually, we could have a wonderful time discussing the supposed actual buriel place of Christ in southern France as outlined in the book, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail."
As to the supposed "official" positions of the Roman Catholic Church on this or any OTHER subject, what difference does it make? At the time of the Holy Grail the Roman Catholic Church wasn't even IN existence so why would it's "position" on this have any relevance?
