Most Paris hotels have rooms that are on the small side, and that's true of the St-Germain area. Not too long ago there was a thread here on triples; try a search.

You've chosen an expensive and very touristy area of Paris. I don't know if they have triples, but Hotel Boneparte is often touted on here as very reasonable.

Hotel du Danube has triples, 2 connected rooms with 1 bathroom. We stayed there with our 2 daughters (so I guess it is actually a quad.)

This hotel has junior suites which are a double with a connecting single.

Try the Hotel des Stes. Peres. It has larger than normal rooms for central Paris and is within your price range. I once stayed there with my two sisters so at least then, they had triples.

You can try the Hotel Varenne (www.varenne-hotel-paris.com), but judging by your dates, you may have look elsewhere unless you up your budget somewhat.

To stay within your budget and still be close in, you can try something like the Hotel Ascot Opera in the 2nd (www.ascotparishotel.com), or the Queen Mary in the 8th.

Although I've stayed all over Paris, St. Germain has been my main neighborhood since the 70s. Although I now rent an apartment, as for hotels I recommend the Hotel Le Clement. It's the first one that I've listed in my above hotel thread.

We stayed in a room that was a triple, at http://www.hotelaumanoir.com/en/ altho there were only 2 of us in the room back in '04. When I just looked at the website, it looks like they have extensively remodeled so I am not sure if the configuration of the rooms is the same as it was back then. However when I checked prices for your dates, a triple was almost 400 euros! When we stayed there, I would say the place was nice but on the modest end of nice.....apparently the renovations have increased the prices. I only give you this info by way of agreeing w/posters who say that the budget may be low.

BTW, we have also stayed at the Hotel des Stes. Peres--a lovely hotel!-- as well, and it was even more expensive than the Au Manoir. Paris is just very costly for so many of its hotels!

Thank you all for your recommendations. I think my budget may have been a little low as well. I automatically think double and budget accordingly. A triple room is a bit more. Even so, there seems to be several options within that price range. I'll be back as soon as I narrow down to a few.

Well, it is interesting, long2, but at some point, a day or so, after I responded to your post, an ad for an internet special for the Au Manoir, appeared on the top of a page I was looking at. Talk about targeted ads! Anyway, they might be offering specials, esp if you inquire to the hotel directly. The location was very good. Better than the Sts Peres, IMO, even tho the SP is a lovely hotel!

Haha social worker, these targeted ads are a little scary sometimes. Like big brother is always watching. I think I skipped over Au Manoir due to the price. I'll have to revisit it, perhaps send an email. Right now I have these seven in my Trip Advisor favorites: Millesime Hotel, Hotel Europe Saint Severin, Madison Hotel, Hotel du Danube St. Germaine, Hotel Le Clement, Hotel de Fleurie, and Hotel Le Regent.

We stayed at Hotel de Fleurie with our teens in 2 connecting rooms. Convenient location.

I just booked a junior suite at Le Clément. It's two connecting bedrooms, single and a double, 175€, includes tax but breakfast is an additional 13€. The breakfast is excellent, I sometimes have it if I know I'm not stopping for a big lunch.

Does the Danube have a/c yet?

300 dollars a night might get you a small double in that area. You should consider apartments...

ps. Clement certainly looks inviting, and that is a great price. You will be very close to Gerard Mulot, too, which is a plus!

That rate is about 200 euro (US$300). There are hotels where you can get more than a small double for $300 in that area. Or you could stay in a cheaper area, there are options. Because a cheap apartment may not be that nice and probably won't have AC and it is very unlikely you can find much of anything in that regard for 2-3 nights (a rental apt in St Germain with AC).

Here is a nice 3* hotel in St Germain which has triples for around 200 euro in early July. It does have AC, also. I stayed there and liked it a lot.

It is also very convenient to the Luxembourg RER stop if you wanted to take the train to/from CDG.

My room at the Clément early last May had AC,. I remember because the day I arrived was unusually hot and humid and I had it on for a few hours.

I assume all rooms have it but would check.

True. Gerard Mulot is less than a 5-minute walk down rue de Seine.

flygirl I have stayed in St Germain many times and I have never paid 300 dollars a night, please be careful what you say, you could not possibly have facts to back that up , people like you love to push apartments with that argument but it is false. I can also not imagine going to the hassle of renting an aparment for two nights, plus try finding A/C in a inexpensive apartment, much harder then finding it in a hotel.

I can list three hotels that are under 300 dollars a night for a double and have a/c, I have stayed in all of them. Booking ahead does help, which I always do.

Agree, Justine, there are many good hotel options well under $300 a night.

The junior suite I reference is two bedrooms and at today's rate is around $235.

I must have expensive tastes then! My hotel stays have never been under 200 euros in Paris.

And my first ever apartment stay was in December (two months ago) so I hardly am an apartment pusher.

Flygirl, I have never stayed in a hotel in Paris over 200 euros, you just have more money to spend then I do. Trust me, if you do not have that sort of money to spend it is easy to find places for alot less then 300 dollars a night! And I do not stay in dumps, mostly 3 stars , and few 2 stars, but all are clean , nice, a/c and mini fridges( I love having a mini fridge and since I go in summer, I must have a/c) .

Sorry about "apartment pusher" comment, I actually stayed in a nice one myself last summer, but I find it annoying when people come on asking about a hotel for 2-3 nights and people suggest an apartment, I would not bother to do all the research nessesary to find a nice apartment for 2 nights, pay up front, and then say its cheaper, since many times it is not cheaper at all( especially since some agencies charge an extra fee for short stays) .

I haven't checked this thread in a bit and now I feel responsible for squabbles here. First, I must say that I think I was out of line in my price range for a Paris triple in a good location. We are usually looking for a room for two and that was the price range in my head when I posted. Having said that, we did make a reservation. The Hotel Clement and Hotel Le Regent were our first choices and location was a priority. We chose a triple at the Hotel Le Regent based on the location and room even though it was smaller than getting two rooms at the Clement. The Clement just looked a little more "vanilla" in the photos we saw. We paid 306 euros per night in July for their "Triple Luxury Superior" room with a double bed, an extra bed, and breakfast for three. Hope it was a good choice.

You will love the area, and the bathrooms are nice, and the a/c works and there is a mini fridge in the rooms,, hope its not too tight, ( I have never stayed in the triple) but as I said, the location is so perfect you will be out all the time.

Le Regent looks great. I noticed it when we stayed at the Hotel Dauphine, which btw I don't recommend as they've recently hiked their prices!
