Hotels at Lake Garda
Hi Folks,
So, I'm back from my last trip, and almost all of my planning is done for my next trip in November 2015.
So naturally I'm thinking about the trip after that one -- including five or so days at Lake Garda in April 2016. I know it's a long way off -- but I do enjoy the planning!
I've started looking at hotels, and I haven't had much luck in finding a good base of hotels to choose from. I want to stay in the northern part of the lake, say at or north of the line Malcesine - Limone sul Garda. I really want there to be a garden with some/lots of Italian Cypress trees and a sea view. I would like the hotel to be within about 10 or 15 minutes' walk to a built-up area (though I'll probably have a car, I don't want to use it for daily trips, etc).
As you can see, I have a pretty specific with list. This will be my first visit to Lake Garda.
I'd love to see your recommendations!
Thanks loads!

I stayed at the Hotel du Lac et du Parc in Riva a couple of years ago and was very happy with it. There was a very nice garden and it backed onto the lake; about 10-15 minutes walk along the lake to the town. Because the garden/park is so bi you can'[t really see the lake from it except right at the end, but some rooms on the upper floors will have lake views (I was on the other side). The building itself isn't terribly attractive, but the surrounds are lovely, and it was nice inside too. There was a bus route close by too for trips. It was quite pricy, ISTR, but I can't remember the exact cost. I really liked it.

Hey, thanks so much for responding and sharing your experiences at the lake!
Rubicund -- I've looked at the Oasi, and it does have a nice garden, and it looks beautiful. However, I would prefer to have more traditional architecture & design rather than modern.
Nonconformist -- That is a lovely hotel, and its park is just great, magnificent. It will probably go on my list!
HappyTrvlr -- I also like the Hotel Castello Lakeside a lot, but it lacks a nice garden. I'm keeping it on my list if I decide I want something more central. It is beautiful.
Thanks again all!

Hotel Castello was very central to the old town. Or do you mean, central as in location on the lake? We also had a fantastic experience at Hotel Bellerive in Salò on southern, SW , area of the lake too. Beautiful lake.

Hi again Happy Trvlr,
I meant, central to the town, right in the middle of things. No, I don't want to be central on the lake -- I would like to be in the northern part, close to the mountains.
Thanks!
