September is a bad month for last minute reservations. Try the Madison, D'ANgleterre on rue Jacob,Millesime, or the Deux Continents. All near St Germain metro and central to lots of places

Here's a 4 star on the 1st/2nd border - about a five minute walk to the Louvre. After clicking the "check rates" button - 1/2 the sites say there are rooms available at $376 USD for your dates, the other sites says it's booked. Not sure what that means, maybe just those blocks of rooms are gone?? Even better, just TELEPHONE them. Worth a try.

Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg

has an excellent location(it has an 8th address, but next to US Embassey and a block from Place de la Concorde), 4 star but feels like a five. Feels more modern than traditional Parisian charm, but all the other advantages outweigh that.

You are asking for a last minute reservation in what is arguably peak hotel season in Paris. You could contact specific hotels but I do not think you will like what they tell you. Do not give up on 2 star hotels because the French star system is not like it is elsewhere. There are plenty of 2 star hotels which I prefer over several hotels which are listed as 4 stars.

Try using a booking site such as:

I'd also suggest you use some last minute service or you wil waste a lot of time trying to get reservations at places that are booked up. Try www.booking.com, also. Or just accor's website, they have lots of French hotels and I like their brands quite a bit (Mercure for example is a fairly safe bet).
