Holy Week in Rome

My husband and I will be in Rome during Holy Week (March 24-26). Any caveats for this busy time of the year? We have our hotel reservation, but do we need to worry about reservations for museums, etc.? Also any hints to avoid obvious disasters since we've never been to Rome before? Finally, any ideas on the weather? Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Jeanette,
When we visited Rome one of the major thing that struck us was the chaotic traffic and the fact that you seem to take your life in your hands just by crossing the road. Traffic does not always stop at red lights, or at pedestrian crossings (I read that pedestrian crossings are there to give pedestrians a sporting chance). Our first couple of road crossings were terrifying. We learnt to follow a local, or just step out, look confident, don't hesitate and keep walking. They will go around you, though when you have a bus bearing down on you, you do wonder if you'll reach the other side in one piece!
Kay
