Holborn to Stansted via Stansted Express

Hello-- My husband and I (in our late 60s) will be staying 10 days at the Thistle Holborn, The Kingsley in March. On a Wednesday, we will need to get to Stansted Airport for an 11:50 am flight to Lisbon. We are thinking of taking the Stansted Express. We will need to get to Liverpool Station with our mid-sized rolling bags and small backpacks. Should we try to take the tube to Liverpool Station? Will we encounter many stairs or is there a lift or escalator at Holborn and Liverpool Stations? Or, is there an easier way to get Stansted from Holborn? I've looked into justairports.com, but £58 seems steep since if I book now on the Stansted Express website, the two of us can go for £16.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give.

>>Should we try to take the tube to Liverpool Station?<<

Nope -- Liverpool Street Station (a huge difference )

>>is there an easier way to get Stansted from Holborn?<<

Not really -- The Stansted Express is the best way to get to Stansted. You could easily take the tube but I'd just take a taxi from the hotel to Liverpool Street.

>>I've looked into justairports.com, but £58 seems steep<<

Actually -- that seems VERY reasonable. Stansted is 40 miles from central London. It is easily a 70-90 minute drive.

For sure take a cab, you'll be traveling during rush hour and you're heading into the City.

take a taxi to the Liverpool Street Station and then the Stansted Express and allow for extra time for the taxi ride to the station. The train will be faster than a ride out to the airport.

Thank you all very much. Cab sounds like the way to go to Liverpool St. Station!
