HELP WITH EUROPE ITINERY
I guess I posted my questions wrong in my first post (NEW TO FODOR'S) Thanx rex.
Ok I am tweeking our plans a bit.
DFW Sept 11 arrive AMS Sept 12
1,Amsterdam Sept 12 to Sept 15 = 3nights
(Take Train Amsterdam to Paris)
2,Paris Sept 15 to Sept 20 = 5 nights
Rent a car for a day or two
(Fly Skyeurope CDG to PRG)
3, Prague Sept 20 to Sept 24 = 4 nights
Rent a car for a day or two
(take Train Prague to Munich)
4, Munich Sept 24 to Sept 29 = 5 nights
Rent a car for a day or two
(Fly home MUC to DFW Sept 29)
I can't find the cost of train service from Amsterdam to paris or Prague to Munich because it's too far out from sept so they don't show prices?
Skyeurope CDG to PRA is only 154 Euros total for two people.
It's a 11 hour train ride from Prague to Munich and I would like to fly but I can't find any flights PRA to MUC on the dates we want? what do you think,
TRAIN OR PLANE??
Will this be enough time in each city plus be able to drive out to see small villages and stuff?

Well, I don't want to be your lecturer... but this is not much of an improvement!
For example... here are the questions you want answered:
<< I can't find the cost of train service from Amsterdam to paris or Prague to Munich ... >>
<< I can't find any flights PRA to MUC on the dates we want? what do you think, TRAIN OR PLANE?? >>
I don't mean to withhold info, but this is a Europe travel forum... all the questions seek "help with Europe" (adding the word ITINERARY doesn't really clarify much of anything.
In your defense, many people use this exact same header for advice on allocating time between a sprinkling of scattered destinations.
But your final question really can't be answered...
<< Will this be enough time in each city plus be able to drive out to see small villages and stuff? >>
The entire 17 nights could be spent in any ONE of these destinations... since you refer to driving "out to see small villages and stuff"...
But generally, your time allocation seems reasonable, if that's what you want. You could spend it all in any of these four countries, or all on the "in between" each of these four points - - and never spend any time in the cities.
I will answer your question on train fares... you're right, there are no September fares because it is too far into the future. But unlike air fares, train fares have almost ZERO seasonal variations. Check the fares for next month, and they will be essentially identical in September.
Best wishes,
Rex

Hi V,
You can go back to your original post.
You have answers there.
If you can't find it, click on your name.
I'm leery of flying on a charter airline, but others might have had good experience with Condor.

Oh Rex,
Give the poster a break !
Just because people don't write in your manner, it doesn't make it wrong.
vacationwannabe will never be comfortable asking questions if you keep on like that.

I think it's enough time to see the high points in each city and be able to scout around outside the city a bit.
It looks as though you enjoy driving, but also consider the possibility of daytrips by bus tour if there's some particular sight you want to visit (e.g., Palace of Versailles). We didn't have much trouble renting a car in Munich and getting out of and back into the city, but Paris was another story.

It's good that you feel fulfilled "patrolling" me, Mucky... gives you something useful to do... wink...
I know you'll grieve someday when the lefthand frame looks like this...
1. Help
2. Help with Europe.
3. Help with itnirary
4. Travel questions.
5. Trip to Europe.
and so on...
You'll immediately conclude... "Rex must have keeled over"...
Smile.
I'm in Great Falls, Montana this week and it's going to be MINUS TWENTY-SIX degrees here tonight (that's not wind chill!)
