Hi, I've never been to Europe and I actually tried<BR>researching abit through guide books, but I thought<BR>maybe someone in the network can help me better. <BR><BR>I am attending my friend's wedding in Paris (starts at<BR>1pm) but I am arriving in London's airport (LHR) at<BR>6:50am that same day. I am planning to take Eurostar<BR>to Paris, but I am not sure if I have enough time to<BR>make it to the wedding. My questions are: <BR><BR>1. How long does British customs take to go through? <BR>2. How do I get from LHR airport to the station where<BR>I can take Eurostar to Paris? How long will this take?<BR><BR>3. How far is Eurostar station in Paris to St.<BR>Germain? <BR><BR>I would truly appreciate your help!<BR>

You'll be there in time for the reception...but I think you'll miss ther wedding ceremony!

Sorry, Caren, but you will not have enough time if you take the Eurostar. The train itself takes 3 to 3.5 hours and to that you have to add getting your luggage, immigration, getting to Waterloo in the center of London and checking in 30 minutes before the train, and get from Gare du Nord to the wedding. Just not possible. Instead, fly directly from LHR to CDG. There is 1 hour time difference between London and Paris so your 1PM wedding is at noon London time - giving you only 4 hours total - even flying you will be cutting it close.<BR><BR>

Fly there on a commuter flight. Some are really cheap and will get you there in a little over an hour. <BR>

The cheapest flights to Paris from LHR are operated by BMI, they even accept one way flights. Check availability and book online at flybmi.com

Check europebyair.com. We used them to fly Paris to London (Stanstead) in Jan. The flight was short and sweet. The flight only took an hour. You can check the time schedule on their website.

The above post is probably sincere but not realistic. Travelling from Heathrow to Stansted will take quite a bit of time.<BR><BR>In order to attend the wedding, you must fly from LHR to Paris. Since the UK does not participate in Schengen, you can head towards the transfer desk and not pass through customs and immigration. Afterwards, you'll wait in the sterile ahopping area. During this time, you may wish to change to your wedding clothes (or do so in Paris depending on your schedule).<BR><BR>Upon arrival in Paris, either deposit your luggage in left luggage (if it still exists) or lug your luggage to the wedding.<BR><BR>If you really have trouble finding a flight, you might consider going to London City Airport, but LHR has plenty of flights.

You've peaked my curiosity.<BR><BR>bmi British Midland flight BD173 flies 0755-1010<BR>Air France AF 1071 0815-1025<BR>Air France AF 2671 0845-1055<BR>Air France AF 1171 0915-1125<BR>British Airways BA 306 0915-1115<BR><BR>If the airfares are similar, consider either flying your favorite airline or consider the terminals used at LHR.<BR><BR>United, Virgin, Continental codeshares operated by Virgin, Air Canada, and American arrive at Terminal 3. BA arrives at Terminal 4.<BR><BR>BA to CDG departs Terminal 4, BD from Terminal 1, AF from Terminal 2. Terminal 4 is separated from all the other terminals but there is a free and fast Heathrow Express that connects T4 with the others.<BR><BR>Sudan Airways and Egyptair flew between London and Paris at one time.

Careen,<BR>Moonbeam and Janis have already pointed out the Eurostar will not get you to the church on time.<BR>It would be a shame to miss your friend's wedding.<BR>x-x-x has suggested that you skip flying to LHR altogether and instead fly directly to CDG. I second that.<BR>Why are you flying to London when Paris is your destination..why are you not flying directly to Paris?<BR>Your present plan leaves you no time to check into a hotel or change clothes and freshen up before the wedding. <BR>If you have already paid for your plane ticket to LHR contact your airline and find out what the penalty is for changing your destination. Maybe the penalty will be equal to or not much more than the amount your were prepared to pay for your Eurostar ticket. <BR>Were you planning to return to London the day after the wedding? If so, ask about an open jaw ticket that would allow you to arrive in Paris but depart from Heathrow.<BR>If your carrier doesn't fly directly to Paris, is it possible to reschedule your travel date so that you will arrive at LHR the day BEFORE the wedding and then take a commuter plane to Paris and spend the night before the wedding there?<BR>I assume you were planning to spend the night OF the wedding in Paris.
