Has anyone traveled with 'General Tours - World Traveler'?

We would like to visit Russia and looking for a good tour company preferably high end and small groups. So far we know about Tauck. Has anyone traveled with 'General Tours - World Traveler'?

I used them for a trip to Peru in 2008 and can recommend them. We had a group of 12, one couple, 2 singles and 2 families. I mainly chose them because of the small group size and hotels, which were all very good, esp. JW Marriott in Lima and our MP hotel (had my own fireplace/sitting area in the room). They used all top hotels. In some areas, that mean deluxe hotels, but the best available. We had different guides for each region - Lima, MP/SV, and Lake Titicaca. The MP/SV guide was great. Everything ran very smoothly, whether it was booking my domestic flight thru them, adding an extra night in Lima or just the tour itself. They are rather pricey though; last year, my son travelled with me (Thailand/Angkor Wat) so I was looking for a cheaper company and used SmarTours. I liked them just as much as General Tours and the price was so much cheaper.

I used them for my trip to India in 2001. The trip was arranged by a friend of my Aunt Judith. This man got 20 of his friends to sign up for the trip so he could travel for free. Everyone knew each other on the trip so we all had a blast.

Our guide was fantastic, and our hotels were top-drawer. The Abercrombie/Kent Tour stayed in the same hotels as we did.

My mother and I also used General Tours for our trip to Bangkok and Siem Riep. This was a private tour, not a group tour. We had our own guide and private car/driver. It was very expensive (We stayed at The Oriental in Bangkok), but so worth it. We LOVED our guide for Siem Riep. He really went out of his way to make sure we had a great time.

I highly recommend General Tours. It gets the Thingorjus Stamp of Approval.

We have enjoyed General Tours expertise time and time again(16 at the last count). Wonderful in every catagory. We spent a week in Russia (Moscow and St Petersburg). Italy by train, Switzerland by train,

Great hotels, and wonderful guides...We would not think of using any other company!
