gotoday vs expedia for London deal
Both gotoday.com and expedia have London winter packages (air and hotel) that are quite similiar. Gotoday has a little better price, about a hundred dollars, but spread over 8 days that's only about $10 a day. But with expedia you can see the airline and flight times before you book. Can't decide which one to go with and was wondering what other people's experience was with either of these companies. Thanks.

ann
for a true comparison try contacting the airline that expedia uses and see if you can book exactly the same trip (airline and hotel) with the airline directly. Go-today and Expedia don't always have exclusive deals.

Some people are very flexible about travel and if they get a good deal they don't mind leaving or arriving in the wee hours, or having long layovers.
I do mind those things, so I wouldn't book a flight blind, but you have to decide if the $100 is worth possible inconvenience.

Thanks for the replys. I did price out the airfare and hotels seperately on about 10 sites inlcuding airline's own, went to a travel agent, looked at the same hotels on other sites. Both the Gotoday and expedia packages beat booking seperately by a lot. On previous trips I have found similiar deals I could put together myself (e.g. I did Paris last March and was able to get what I wanted for less than expedia could offer, but not this time). The hotels are similiar but not the same, I think I like the gotoday choices better so that's another thing in their favor. I tried their online chat to see if I could find out the times and air carriers but they said you couldn't. So Lena, could you explain exactly how you did that. Thanks.

Ann: Don't go to the chat site, call the 800 number that they list on the web site. They're very helpful. Also, when you get to the page that lists the add-on costs by city, there's usually a space at the very bottom that tells you what airline they fly. I (and friends I know who've used them) flew USAirways. They also list Virgin from certain cities. I got the info on the flight times by calling them.
