Go Ahead Vacations

I went on the Rome, Venice, Florence trip with Goahead in 1999. I was pleased with the tour, however, I have never used another company to compare it with. We had free time in each city which I was happy about and we only had 2 or 3 meals with the group so sometimes it even felt we were not on a tour. I was pleased with the tour guide and the hotel locations except in Venice (we stayed on Lido) even though the hotel on Lido was very nice. Which tour are you considering? If you have more questions, let me know.
martha,

I went to Greece with Go Ahead last October. I have also traveled with Trafalgar twice in the past couple of years. I think they are comparable. Both first class tours.

We stayed in very nice hotels, had good meals and our tour guide was very competant.

Where are you thinking of going? I would definitely go with them again. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to e-mail me directly.

We have used Go-Ahead several times and have always been pleased with them. We have never taken one of their tours that required any meals with the group. There were lots of optional tours available, but there was not a lot of "togetherness" with the group which we liked. The only drawback we found, was that they use Mestre for Venice hotels, but all of their hotels have been very nice. With airfares as high as they are, it is probably a good idea to check their prices. We always travel independently now, but this year we are using Go-Today to go to Italy, because with hotel, it was cheaper than just airfare on our own.
