Ghosts of WWII

This web link holds 20 absolutely amazing photographs. This guy, Sergey Larenkov, took 20 old photos from WWII, then he calculated the exact placement of the original shot, the angles, distances and using photoshop combined modern photos that he took with the old WWII photos. These are simply stunning and very haunting.

I've been lucky enough to have been to at least a couple of these places in Central Europe. These images renew my "tourist" memories in a different and wholly intriguing way.

Most people wouldn't believe how difficult it is to do what he did. Not the Photoshop part, that is easy. But to get the angles, distances and other specifics so exact. That took some serious time.
