Germany: wellness trip?

My wife and I and another couple are interested in visiting Germany for a wellness vacation. Here's what we're interested in doing.
1) We love nature. We want to go on hikes and bike rides in the country.
2) We love historical architecture.
3) We want to visit wellness/sauna complexes.

The idea is that we want to go out during the day and be active (hiking, etc.) and then in the evenings have relaxation services like sauna, steam, mud treatments, etc.

We would probably spend a day or two at a large wellness complex also. We'll have about 10 days.

Any ideas on where to travel to and specific accomodations?

Lots of small hotels and B&B around to try, plus you have the Elbe River bike path relatively close and plenty of off road biking routes available.

If you plan for next year, I highly recommend this spa hotel in the National Park Saxon Switzerland:

Another fantastic spa hotel in a beautiful landscape, with Bautzen, Görlitz, Dresden, even Prague in day trip distance:

(unfortunately only in German, I think)
