France

I along with my wife plan to visit Chamonix-Mont Blanc on 16th June 2013. I shall take a train from Ballegarde and reach chamonix at about 3:00 P. M.

As in summer days are longer, will it be possible for us to visit Auguille Di Midi same evening say around 4:00 P. M.

Also need suggestion about cost effective accommodation, which is close enough to Train Station, Where we quickly check-in and proceed for the Mountain trip.

You better check and see what time the cable cars stop running and how long it takes to go up and down, including the line to buy tickets. I remember arriving in Chamonix a few years ago around noon and by the time we had finished standing in the line to buy tickets and then waiting to have our ticket number called it was about 3 hours.

BTW, Chatur, a helpful hint would be to be more specific in your post titles. If you had added a few words about what you wanted to know, rather than just "France", I think you would have received more responses. Though I must admit that PalenQ was Johnny on the spot with a specific answer.

Agree that you simply can't just walk up and start to ascend the mountain. When we were there - arrived about 10 am - we had a wait of more than an hour - and this was in May - so not high season.
