Flats in South Kensington or Knightsbridge
My wife and I are planning a London trip for sometime in the Fall. We stayed in a well-located flat near the "border" (if there is one) between Knightsbridge and South Kensington on the (I'm trying to remember without a map) Brompton between Harrod's and the V and A Museum.
Our flat was conveniently located for the Underground (we usually used the Harrod's entrance, for a couple of green grocers, and for what seemed like a couple dozen restaurants, including the ubiquitous Pizza Express which surprisingly makes an incredibly good salade Nicoise.
This flat may not now be affordable for us after a recent renovation, so we'd like to look at a couple of alternatives in the neighborhood. We've had three good experiences with London Connection and may well work with them again.
We hope that a forum member can suggest some additional choices for us in this location. We are a retired couple and are looking for a flat with a lift and (to save some non-productive work during hours better spent seeing the unlimited sights of London) a washer/dryer in the flat.

That's a location we'd enjoy, too. I remember some very nice brownstones on a side street that we took on a walk from V&A to Harrod's. There were designer boutiques in there, too.
I think I found the walk in a Fodor's London book. I remember it being about halfway up the boulevard from V&A, on the right. The street looped around to Harrod's. Maybe someone knows its name.
Will be interested in recommendations.

There is a Citadines on Gluouster Rd, walking distance to the tube ;
V&A , Harrods, Kensington Gardens, good transport. and a Partridges right across the street. No laundry in the apt but there is one on site. Concierge service too. Loads of restaurants nearby

We've had good luck with http://www.vrbo.com/. The apartment we will stay in in Chelsea was listed by them, but the actual booking was from www.londonperfect.com.

We rented from www.basilstreetapartments.com and had a view of Harrods. Well appointed apartments, W/D, WiFi. As name suggests, they're on Basil St.
