Family vacation in Samos- please advise

Plan to have a 2 weeks holiday in August in a nice, peacefull island in Greece. I've been told that both Aegina and Samos are very nice. Please advise what fits better for a family with 7 years-old kid.

Sifnos is a WONDERFUL family friendly island. Check out the info about it on Matt Barrett's website greektravel.com. We spent three weeks there with our then 7 year old twins in the year 2000. It was quiet and felt less touristy than places like Santorini...(although you can't beat the beauty of Santorini). I have a Greek friend who really loves Sifnos because of its quiet family atmosphere. Another nice one is Milos.

ontheverge,
Thanks for the web site. It's amaizing what you can find if you know where to look...
Finally we've decided Samos would be the choice for this year, but for sure Sifons will follow pretty soon as it looks very nice.

Don't be too surprised if your "nice, peaceful island in Greece" is a bit of a madhouse. August is the busiest month of the whole summer season. Granted Samos isn't as popular as other islands, but because it's a gateway to Turkey there will be a lot of traffic there. And because Aegina is close to Athens it has its own built-in popularity with day-trippers.

Go to Samos and make the picturesque and safe village of Kokkari your base.

Arion hotel(arion-hotel.com) is an excellent choice family friendly (larger family rooms)with excellent service and food. The greek night buffet is real treat!
Rent a car and do not miss these incredible mountain villages like Manolates and Vourliotes,Pythagorion and the sandy beach of Psilli amos... and why not take the fastboat to Patmos for the day where you can visit St John's monastry and finish the day on the beach.
