European Airlines-Purchasing tickets from Venice to Rome

Hi,

Can anyone recommend an airline/s with responsible rates for tickets from Venice to Rome? I've heard of Ryan Air, but they don't seem to fly to all locations or the major airports.

Thanks,
Nanaz

At the time that I took the reverse flight R to V, Alitalia had frequent flights each day but I doubt they are the least expensive.

Three years ago I did this with my daughter for $110 each. Looking back, I think we should have taken that fast train which is 4.5 hours I think. By the time we had traveled to the airport in Venice, arrived an hour prior to the flight, waited on a delay, arrived at Rome's airport, and taken the train to Termini, more than four hours went by. The train was about $40 cheaper and would have only taken an hour longer at most.

I'm with you, postal. Not to mention that there are far fewer delays or problems with the trains than with airlines.
There are fairly frequent trains that take 4 hours and 33 minutes, center of city to center of city!

Thanks to everyone for the advice. As several of you mentioned... the train may be the better option.
