Eiffel Tower Replica - where to buy, or how to make?

I would like an Eiffel Tower...er...well...how shall I put this...CHRISTMAS TREE. I want to replace my Christmas Tree with an Eiffel Tower. Take a look at this ornament:
http://www.everythingeiffel.com/php/...xprod=ornament

Now I want it 5 feet tall with lights and spaces for my Christmas Ornaments. Have you seen one for purchase? Know how to make one? Seen plans for one?

Well, if it was only 3 feet, I could put it on my table in front of the window. You could seen the entire tower and it would twinkle EVERY HOUR.

Merci.

With a picture of the ornament and a fair amount of money, you could probably commission a local metalworking artisan to make one for you...

I can quite honestly say, after throwing DD's Wedding of the Century, on a limited budget, that anything can be replicated with enough patience and application.

I think you ought to give the wire model a go. Even order one of the wire ornaments, then figure out through measurements, how to make it much bigger. You might not have it this Christmas, but just think about next year!

And from a Google search for "giant eiffel tower model" we have:

http://www.fatbraintoys.com/toy_comp...ffel_tower.cfm

and

http://www.paperlandmarks.com/eiffel-tower.htm

and

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/286...e&n=283155

and check out this page:

Now, can you tell that I am alone and bored tonight????

Do they still sell Erector Sets? If so, you could build your own, paint it black, and it would look very realistic

You could buy one of these, http://tinyurl.com/bokug, at Target and put it on a very tall plant stand.

Well, Eloise, that artisan would be ME (I am very handy). Tuscan, my thought exactly. Buy the ornament and copy it to a larger scale (gradually make each one bigger). Just have to figure out where to buy the wire. The erector set tower looked too clunky but I had thought of that, too.

I just thought someone might have seen one for sale so I could get one immediately...for this Christmas.

Ever hear of Paris, Texas? They have a 65 ft Eiffel Tower.

There is also a Paris, TN but no picture of their two replicas.

Found a picture. TN looks more authentic than TX's:

Heller models in France sells an exact scale model of the tower, but it's only about a foot tall, and it's hard to find (you might have to order it directly from them).

There's nothing like the real thing, though. The Eiffel Tower is like Coca-Cola in that respect.

I think chicken coop wire would work nicely.

Sometimes the Flax Art and Design catalogue and some museum catalogues (Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian, Boston Art Museum) sell kits to make models of famous structures. However, I think they are usually cardboard or wood models. You might check to see whether there are metal ones, too.

Some of the Pearl Paint art supply stores might possibly have materials that are finer than chicken wire that might work well for this. I think their catalogues are very limited, though.

You can get tiny ready-made decorative replicas of the Eiffel Tower by mail order here: http://www.frenchselections.com/data...00488D00000000

hi ronda
i love your idea, so i googled for you ( Models, the Eiffel Tower, and found this:

http://www.zebrahall.com/z072-cme001.html

It's a kit for a 28" tall Eiffel tower.

I worked for a while years ago with a friend on the "Build Your Own" Series (his books, not mine), which were Paper kits in Book Form for things like The Empire State Building, The Brooklyn Bridge, the Chrysler Building, etc. I put a few of them together to test the kits-They were fun projects!

I found it!! The perfect Eiffel Tower but unfortunately it is over $3,000

http://www.everythingeiffel.com/php/...xprod=iron_art

It is ART though - a sculpture.

Don't feel too bad about it: I don't think it has sufficient cross pieces to hang your ornaments on...

You could buy the Eiffel tower lamp from Target and just not use the lampshade. You could use a colored lightbulb or just decorated the tower with tiny lights and balls, etc.

Why in the world would you bring this stale thread back up, Leekhaven? The question is eight years old!

Does this remind anyone of the model of Stonehenge in Spinal Tap?

(I saw the tree was pulled down 8 years ago.)
