Dublin Airport, last night hotel

Dublin Airport, last night hotel
Any suggestions for a hotel or B & B close to Dublin airport for the night before we fly home would be much appreciated.
We will be driving from Kilkenny, which is not all that far, but we prefer to be closer to the airport for the night before departure.
There are so many choices on Trip Advisor, but I'd like to get the Fodorites input.

We are staying in a B&B in Malahide (Evergreen), which is just a 10 minute drive to the airport. There are many B&Bs there as well as the Grand Hotel.
(We haven't stayed here before but the reviews look very good.)

We have booked the clarion which is right at the airport. We are doing the gobus from Galway to the airport so will check in and then take a city link bus back into the city for our last night. 9:00 am flight so thought being right there at airport would be easy.

We were very pleased with the Premier Inn at the Dublin airport. They had a pub, restaurant, and airport shuttle, so we were able to turn in the car the evening before, and did not have to deal with that detail the morning of our departure. It was spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced.

Leaving for my 17th trip to Ireland and I concur with SusieKay regarding the Premier Inn at Dublin Airport. We have stayed there many times now and love it...yes, it IS super clean, convenient, has a restaurant and bar. We only stay the night before we leave Ireland. We have a reservation for late March for 69 euros...they have a deal for 49 euros if you guanantee the date...I just hate to guarentee anything!

We were leaning toward the Evergreen B & B, but the Premier is looking good.
In Sept.'10 we stayed at a large hotel near the airport in Shannon. It wasn't the best way to end our vacation. The room was nice, but it was definitely a business hotel. The room was very comfortable, but the rest of it left us cold.
When it comes down to it, price is not the issue, within reason.

We've decided on The Premier, figured we'd have enough B & B's by then.
Here's my question----where is it?
On some site maps it's off of Dublin Rd. to the east of Nevinstown West.
On others, it's off of Swords Rd. to the west in Airside Retail Park.
Can anyone help?

You don't give time of flight. If early a.m Swords is a fair journey and in rush hour might cause a problem. Road to Airport often referred to as "the biggest parking lot in Ireland."
I always stay at the Clarion myself regardless of time -- just the flying is for me enough stress!

Good info, never thought it was that far from the airport. Our flight doesn't leave until 12:45.
So how long a drive at 9:30ish? We'll have to turn in the car and have about 2 hrs. before take off.

I am a travel agent who specializes in Irish travel and I agree with the former post regarding Evergreen B&B in Malahide. Malahide also offers you a less sterile environment to enjoy a last pub or two. But, if you prefer a hotel, I actually have done hotwire.com and have gotten the Crowne Plaza at the airport for $79/USD and the Radisson Blu which is right on the grounds. Have a safe trip.

Just returned a few days ago from my 17th trip to Ireland. We did indeed stay yet again at the Premier Inn. It is stellar. Extremely clean, comfortable having a resturant and bar inside, we have only been to the bar part..but its nice to have the restaurant if needed. The shower is outstanding. We love this place. We paid 69 euros for our one night stay. Its very close and convenient to the airport!
We always spend the night before in Malahide, walking around and having dinner there. This time we had drinks at the Grand Hotel. We usually have dinner at Crusso's on the harbor so after the Grand we drove over to Crusso's. www.cruzzo.ie
We love B&B's, but this last night its really nice to just "hotel it". I hope this helps.

17 trips to Ireland----you must really know your way around.
I like the look of Cruzzo's, we may just go there. I guess it depends what we do from Kilkenny to the Premier Inn, and what time we get there. Usually the last night we just eat at the hotel.
