Driving on France this summer? Be sure to have one of these in the car...

The approved version only costs 1€ and you can get them in supermarkets (alcohol section!). They're saying that each car should have 2, because if you just blew into one 10 minutes ago, you are still supposed to be able to produce an unused one upon request.
Of course, since the fine for not having one is only 11€ and nobody will be fined for that unless they are stopped for some other infraction, I am sure that many French drivers will not even bother to buy them -- and since they expire after two years, that means in 2 years, the people who have bought them will be driving around with expired ones.

Actually, it's not a bad idea anyway, fine or no fine. I hope there are 1E versions in Spain. Most parents would be very happy their kids used one after clubbing. Also, so many people think the "beer" they just had or the wine with lunch hasn´t affected them, they may be surprised.
