Dinner at Kunsthistorisches

Has anyone had dinner at the Kunsthistorisches? It's served in the Cupola Hall and you are free to wander around from gallery to gallery in between courses.I read about it on the museum website, but have not seen it mentioned here. It requires a reservation. Appreciate opinions.

Did you use the search box? I recall several posts regarding it.

DD and I ate there in the fall of 2006. We were disappointed in the quality of the food and the price of the wine. I wouldn't do it again.

On the other hand, the museum is wonderful.

i took my mother there for a special evening on our trip to vienna last march.

i had read about it here.

The food was tasty, different, lots of appetizers, smoked salmon, salads, and then very nicely broiled beef filet with bearnise sauce.

grilled vegetables and some type of potatoes, and a number of pasta options if i recall.

there were other meats/fowl.

the dessert table was beautiful, but i found them disappointing.

we did not order wine. the beverages are very expensive as in many upscale restaurants.

the dinner does NOT include the museum entrance, which one must pay before going up to dinner.

you can also visit the museum that same evening without the dinner.

it was a special night for us, as was everything we did on this trip.
it was pricey, but a unique atmosphere.

however, you can eat in this same atrium during museum hours for coffee/cake or sandwich if you are not up to a long buffet dinner and browsing between courses.

do request the atrium seating as if you are put on the slim corridor along the windows i think some of the atmosphere is lost.

Right after I posted the question, I found a trip report that included information about the museum dinner. It sounds wonderful.

I was able to make a reservation online, requesting seating in the atrium and received a confirmation.

Thanks to those who responded.
