Denmark for New Year's

I am planning a trip to Denmark for late December and was wondering if anyone knows of any special festivities for New Year's? Also has anyone travelled to the city of Skagen or Alligne (on Bornholm islan), especially in the winter? I am worried that everything will be closed in the winter.

Thanks!

Have not been to
Denmark in winter, but have heard and read that it is dark and gloomy. Skagen is very far north so it will be dark almost around the clock there. Also it doesn't necessarily snow very much and tends to rain or slush more. I would imagine that the Danes will celebrate like everyone else on New Year's. The Danish Tourist Board has a website that probably will have info.

Message: Days are very short, rainy, cold, windy and wet. New Years Eve is usually celebrated with fireworks and parties. The queen makes her New Years speach. I have always had a wonderful time there with family and friends. Most attractions are closed during the winter, but have a great time anyway.
