What is question?

A bit confused by post. ARe you saying you only have two days in Barcelona and you want to daytrip to other places.

We spent 5 days in Tossa De Mar and loved it.. but it was part of a longer ( 25) day trip and our "beach break" so to speak. It could easily be seen in a few hours .. . however bus transport took 1.5 hours from Barcelona and there is no train service there.

If you only have 2 days in Barcelona I would likely give up and just stay there.. whirlwind visits dissatisfy me.

True, I did the question confused. We will be in Barcelona two days but we already know this city fully that we were several times. Now we will be passing through the city and would like to know the Costa Brava and Girona. Do you believe guys that one or days will be enough time to know the area? ? Then we return to Barcelona but go straight to the airport to go to Amsterdam.
Sorry for the mistake to ask the first question.

I never think one or two days is enough to " know an area" .

Are you going to rent a car, it would be best for way to see area as buses and trains take time and do not run conveniently to see three or four places quickly!

Is your two days only one night or two nights? If it's only one night, then a day trip to Girona is probably all you can fit in, but if you have two nights there, then you have a choice of costal resorts to choose from.

Sorry, posted too soon. There is a choice of:

Palafrugell
Tossa de Mar
Blanes
Calella

Like justine, I like Tossa, especially the old town.
