Christmas in Paris and Strasbourg in 2015

We are beginning to plan Christmas for 2015 in Paris and Strasbourg . I have chosen an apartment in Paris but am looking for suggestions for a hotel in Strasbourg for a night or two. Additionally, suggestions on day trips to Christmas Markets too. We will be in France from around 12/9 and going to fly home on Christmas day ...

Have not booked the apartment yet but will in the next few days

You don't need to go to a huge number of different Christmas markets, because they all tend to look the same after awhile.

However, this year I visited the Christmas market in Arras, which is only 50 minutes from Paris by TGV, and I thought that it was quite nice.

I really liked the Hotel de l'Europe in Strasbourg, it's in the pedestrian quarter (Petite France) but you can easily walk to the cathedral and everything else you might want (I preferred that location to the hubbub right around the cathedral). I did walkt to/from the train station for a day trip, also, but you can take a taxi with luggage as cars are allowed to go on that street if going to/from hotels. They had one of the best buffet breakfasts I've ever had.

Thank you Kerouac. Arras looks great. We have added that to the list to visit. Any other suggestions of little towns than are interesting ? We have been to Dijon, Epernay, Strasbourg and Reims.

Thanks

Well Strasbourg isn;t a little town - it's an actual city.

From there you can easily do a day trip to Colmar - or visit some of the little wine towns in between the two.
