Chamonix vs. Grindelwald
I am going to be in Scotland for a biz trip in late Feb. I'd like to take a long weekend and go skiing while I'm there.I would like to take a bit longer than that but most likely I'll only have about 4 days for skiing. I've been told flying into Geneva is my best bet. Can anyone make any suggestions on places for skiing close to Geneva - I've heard Chamonix and Grindelwald are good choices. Also, are there trains from Geneva to these resorts? Thanks in advance for any information!

Hi Leema,
I've never been to Chamonix, but I've skied from Grindelwald twice and loved it! It's Swiss-chalet cuzy (cozier still is Wengen).
There is bus service between Geneva and the French ski resorts, and train service from Geneva to destinations in Switzerland. For your bus connections, check www.coach-station.com or see if the resort itself has bus service. For your train connections, see www.rail.ch.
I should add that it's pretty late to get a hotel in Feb at a ski resort -- they usually get booked months in advance, and sometimes hotels only accept bookings for a week. But it's worth a try! For Grindelwald or Wengen, go to www.grindelwald.ch and www.wengen.ch.
Good luck!
