Car shows in Europe??
Here on the central coast, we have an abundance of car shows, esp. in the summer time when the weather is nice. I was wondering if in Europe they have similar shows? Esp. in France...thanks for your help.

We have gone to Retromobile in Paris, and it was pretty amazing. But it was indoor at a huge convention center, in the winter. But worth attending for sure.

There is the Mondial de l'Auto in Paris every two years (next one in October this year), which is massive. http://www.mondialautomobile.com/
Also the European Motor Show in Brussels (next one in January 2009). http://www.salonauto.be/public/default.aspx?lang=EN
And probably many others.

I think there is a difference in lingo here.
I'm pretty sure the OP wasn't thinking about auto shows like Mondial de l'Auto , Geneva, British International Motor Show, etc. These are the big international Auto Expositions w/ all the manufacturers, international press and such. That is more like Detroit or LA auto shows in the States.
The "central coast" bit is a clue. In California there are car shows like Rods & Roses in Santa Barbara or more casual ones at fairgrounds or even just in large parking lots. Folks show their sports cars or hot rods or souped up motorcycles.
I'm not sure of anything similar in France . . . . .

Possibly the best display of classic cars can be seen by walking around the camp sites and parking areas at Le Mans during the 24 hrs race in June.
There is normally a classic car race/demonstration on the Saturday morning.
