Buy Here or Buy in France

Hello Fodorites,

I have not posted recently looking for your helpful advice (which has been invaluable). This seems like a question of little interest, and I'm afraid this is going to sound silly, but I would like to buy a Longchamps purse. We are going to France in less than two weeks. Should I wait until we get to France?

Thanks,

Buying it in France will always make it a special purchase.

It will be less, but not as much expensive BUT you will find styles not sold here.
Right now in Boston, Longchamps is having a sale but the Brown Leather bag I want is not.

I would suggest doing some research before you go.Check out styles and prices at home so that when you go you'll have some idea as to whether you're getting something unique and/or less expensive than at home.

I just topped best thing you bought in Paris. Longchamps is mentioned, but turnip and cigalechanta have pretty much summarized the responses.

You may as well wait, if you don't find one in Paris, then buy it after you return.

<<I just topped best thing you bought in Paris.>>

This is a reference to http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...mp;tid=1326667

In minutes, hours or (especially) days from now, these two threads will be nowhere near in the same location as they are now, and the "topping" won't lead someone reading THIS thread to THAT one.

Best wishes,

Rex
