Booking Harry Potter midnight tickets

Here's a questions for some London natives!

I will be in London for the week of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 movie release. I thought it would be relatively easy to book tickets for a midnight showing (at midnight on Friday, July 15), but I've been having some trouble doing so. All of the theaters I've found that have midnight showings have either been a) very expensive and/or b) far away from where we are staying.

Ideally, I'd like to find a theater that is close to where we are staying, which is in northwest London, as to cut down on cab fare. It looks like the closest theater is Cineworld Staples Corner, but it looks like they don't have a midnight showing. Does anyone know of a cinema close to that area that has a midnight showing? Or would it be worth the cab fare to go to a cinema that is closer to the downtown area? Any help would be great. We're very excited about seeing the final Harry Potter film in London, and would love to see a midnight showing if possible. Thanks for all the help

First of all - movies are expensive in the UK so yiu can't avoid that.

That cinema is near Brent Cross -- but that doesn't tell us where you are staying. If it is near Brent Cross -- you can take night buses right into the center of London and can go to any cinema you want.

Oh - to clarify -- you'd take regular (tube/train/buses) into London and the night bus back home after the show.

We are staying near the Hendon Central tube station.

That's piece of cake. You can take the tube from Hendon into central London (about a 30 minute journey to say Leicester Square) and then buses back - about a 40 minute trip give or take.

use the TFL journey planner to see the details

We're hoping to do the same thing. The big London premiere with the cast is on July 8, I think, but the movie opens for the rest of us on July 15. I know the Vue in Leicester Square is having a double feature of pts 1 and 2 around midnight. I'm on an email list for the Vue to be notified when tickets go on sale.
