Ana Moura, the diva of fado, released her 5th album called "Desfados". It includes 3 fados sung in English and was recorded in California. The word "desfados" does not exist in Portuguese, but if it existed, it could be translated roughly by "fado undone".
The purists claim blasfemy, but I think it's a great move from Ana Moura. Ana Moura is beginning her new tour in Portugal, later goes to northern Europe and later on to the Americas.

I think it's a great idea. Consider what the 'Girl From Ipanema' sung in English did for Brazillian music.
It depends. I'll wait to hear it before passing judgement. But if it's anything like Misia's cover of Nine in Nails, I'm not hopeful.

It's beautiful! Thanks for the link. But this isn't fado so no blasphemy just yet.
