Belgian airports

Since the attacks and the recent planned ones, the security is tightened in Belgium at airports.
Here are my observations for Charleroi (Brussels south) and Zaventem (Bruxelles international) :
Cars are filtered. You can only go via one file (before we had at least 2) so this might cause for traffic jams. These checkpoints are manned by military.
Zaventem : you are prechecked outside the airport under some kind of tents (like Nielsen huts). Xray of the luggage only.
Charleroi : doors are manned by security and you can only use one entry and one exit - count some hundreds of meters more on foot.
Inside, nothing special. Ah, yes lasagnas were good at Charleroi.
On both occasions (a saturday at 7 pm at BRU and now at CLR) I consider it took us 10 min more than before. However we may have been lucky... Both times non overseas. But today outside EU.
Mvg.

And here is my observation for the airport of Deurne/Antwerp. Yes, there were two security guards walking around and chatting but our car was not checked, nor was there any security inside the small airport building.
Smooth flying from Antwerp ... need to be there only 45 min. in advance. And it's close from/to home!

Thanks Myriam - we only need someone who flew from Liège and we've covered all bases.

Antwerp used to be VLM's hub but they went bankrupt just a few days ago. Furthermore Jetairfly (holiday destinations in Spain), Cityjet (London City), Chalair (Geneva and Caen).
To give you an idea: they have about 4 departures and 4 arrivals daily. Too cute!

PS We forgot Ostend. They also have a small airport with a grand name: International Airport Ostend-Bruges.
