Before we return the car at Marseille airport: Aix, Cassis, or Marseille?

After two nights in Uzes, we may have part of a day before we return our car at Marseille airport, prior to our flight out the next morning.

Wondering which of the above places to spend a few hours. Since we'll have a car still, parking issues are a concern.

I've been to Aix and wouldn't mind going again, but would also love to see something new. Suggestions?

I'd always go for Cassis. Don't know when you're going though so I can't comment on parking or weather, but one way or the other, I still think I'd go for Cassis. It's one of my 6 or 7 favorite places in Europe overall.

Cassis would be a great place for a short visit, but I also don't know anything about parking there.

However, I have used an underground parking garage which is very close to the Vieux Port in Marseille. I strolled the waterfront and took a city bus to the Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde which is at the top of the highest point in the city. You can get a 360 degree panoramic view from there.

Cassis is a beautiful place to spend a few hours. There are parking garages within a block or two of the harbor. It is easier to get in and out of than Aix or Marseille, with wonderful views. The airport is on the outskirts of Marseille and it took a longer time and quite a bit of navigating (translation, we got lost) around the big city. If I was pressed for time, Cassis would certainly get my vote, it just exudes charm.

I imagine you'll have luggage with you in a car; so someplace with an underground garage, ideally with security cameras. would be the best.
