Beaune in the news today

Beaune was the star of the news on TF1 channel today. You'll see the Hospices, the market, the vineyards and cellars and even Olivier Leflaive... in French.

BTW, Beaune has a population of 23000, not 223000 as mentioned.

Beautiful, cocofromdijon and I was happy to hear the correct pronunciation of the city.

Thanks for posting this link. We really enjoyed our stay in Beaune in September and this brought back good memories.

And next week, Sète...

Lovely video! I'm glad you corrected the population; I was thinking that it sure didn't seem that big to me!

Thanks!! Coco, what's Dijon/Beaune like in late February - we are thinking of getting out of town during Fasnacht week next year. Cold weather doesn't bother us and we like winter trips to cities.

"what's Dijon/Beaune like in late February" It's usually cold and humid, we can also have some snow. There are winter holidays as well so it is rather quite. Since I don't like coldness this is the time we choose to go to a warmer place. But if you like cold weather and almost no tourists, this is perfect!

Great - that is exactly what we like as long as the good restaurants and cafes are open...

Restaurants won't close in Feb, I'd be surprised. Don't miss Stephane Derbord's 25€ lunch menu on week days, so good value for a one star Michelin, all my guests loved it and I do too!

Thank you for reminding me of the days I spent in the area.

I had a great meal here in Beaune: http://www.caveau-des-arches.com/res...estaurant.html

I love that announcer and how clearly she speaks French. I am going to have my SO listen to her as often as possible. By the way, during the broadcast, she did say that the population was "vingt-deux mille," so she herself corrected the pop-up on the news forum.

You're right StCirq but since the figures were also written and not every member here speaks French, I wanted to make sure they were correct.
