Barcelona walking tour of Barri Gotic
The last time I was in Barcelona I loved walking around the Gothic Quarter. I only wished I knew more about the history of what I was seeing. I will be in Barcelona again, for a few days, and would love to take an information filled walking tour of this area.
I would love inexpensive suggestions on how to do this. The Barcelona does offer an 8Euro 90 min. tour of the area, which would have been just what we were looking for, but their limited timetable does not fit with ours. There are plenty of private guides to hire, but there fees are at least 40 euro per hour with a minimum of 4 hours, which is much more than we wanted to spend.
Does anyone have recommendations for companies that offer group walking tours in Barcelona? Your suggestions would be very appreciated.

I used a company about a year ago and they did a very good private walking tour of the old city in about 2 hours. I believe we paid about 30 euros for the 2 hours. The company does not do a lot of walking tours, and some of the tours listed on their website are no longer available. However, I found them accommodating to our schedule, and would use them again.
For example, their website said they had a 5 person minimum, but they were happy to take our group of 2 and we agrred to pay a bit extra, but overall not expensieve. The best way to contact them is by fax, noted below:
EurOperator
Gran Vila de les Corta Catalanes, 561
Escal Dreta, Prinicpal
E-08011 Barcelona
tel: 34-93-451-0332
fax: 34-93-451-1489

I have to thank both happy2 travel and Cicerone for the information. we shall be also in November in Barcelona and certainly would jump at the idea of a good tour of the Gothic Quater.
happy2 travel, who exactly offers the 8 euro 90 minute tour?

Eurooperator is a very small operation from what I know of it, don't let the website fool you. The guide tailored the tour to what we wanted to see plus added recommended bits, and seemed knowledgable about the history. I am an attorney and he took me to the former law faculty to show me some interesting parts. Not sure what you are looking for.
