Is there any day hotel or place to nap & shower at the Athens, Greece airport? We arrive in the evening & fly out mid morning the next day. We don't want to have to leave the airport.

You're really out of luck regarding in-airport facilities ... ATH airport used to be OK for sleeping on carpeted floor areas but not lately.

I'm assuming that your concern to stay in airport is budget-driven. There IS a budget hotel about 15 minutes away, that provides free shuttle to/from airport (up to 11 pm or so, and starting again about 8 AM), plus free continental breakfast. here's the link http://www.perishotelapt.gr No dinner/kitchen on premises, but just about 1 KM (.6 of mile) walk from a sandy beach with several tavernas where u can grab a pizza or other evening snack. I don't think you can do better, money-wise than this... and it gets pretty good Trip Advisor feedback.

Thank you so much for the help - bit the bullet & am staying at the Sofitel (Yes, the request WAS budget-driven, but so it is!).

You won't regret staying at Sofitel. Nice rooms with large bathrooms, very comfortable beds, and only a few minutes walk to the check in counters the next morning. You can choose to eat either in the hotel restaurants or in the terminal. I've stayed there a couple of times before early morning flights, and love the convenience.
