Anyone considering canceling Europe trip due to heightened alerts?
Following bin Laden's death, the heightened terrorism alerts around the world might make traveling tricky, especially for Americans. I know the threat is not specific but Europe is and always has been a big target. I really don't want to reconsider my trip and cancel everything but I'm wondering if it's just a bad time right now. What do you think?

By the way, I have a reservation for mid September in Eilat.
What if Obama bin Ladens ghost is hunting me at the beach?
That would be bad, wouldn't it?
You really think there's a problem? . Just go where you planned. No need to worry.

No, I am not cancelling my reservations because of heightened security, although I am cancelling because my DH is in the hospital. This is the second year in a row that I have had to cancel Paris and Amsterdam. Last year the airline cancelled our flight due to the volcano ash.

Last night or the night before a drunk teenager drove the wrong way on a local parkway while texting. Head on collision, two deaths, neither, sadly, his own, if I remember.
More people die in auto accidents in the US in six months than have been killed by terrorists in the history of the country.
Still, we drive.

Well I would not be wearing the American Flag on my back and a Yankee ball cap!
We are in Italy for 2 weeks in October and the only thing that I am worried about are those crazy drivers.
Enjoy and don't worry, life is not a rehershal !

Not even remotely thinking about it. Considering I drive in the NYC area, I've got a better chance getting bumped off by some one texting than any thing from a terrorist. LOL.
I'll maintain my normal awarness but that's about it.
Paris in a few weeks.

oldmacdonaild- June, I am going to Germany, Austria, and Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. Everything is already booked. September, I am going to Munich for 5 nights solo, then my son will join me. He has his choice of travel in September. He is checking on a cruise from Venice to the Greek Isles on MSC Cruise Lines. then back up to Frankfurt for the International Auto Show---he never misses that. Then our flight back home from Frankfurt. If he decides against the cruise, he's considering going back to Budapest, Prague, and Berlin. We've been to all of those several times, but never to the Greek Isles. The only thing booked for September at this time is the airfare.
