ira, I am new at this, what does you reply "topping" mean? Have you taken a tour with Cosmos?

I'm not sure if you are asking about bus tours in general or specifically on clothing.

Anyway, years-and-years ago, we took a Trafalgar first class whirlwind bus tour in europe. Loved it for the convenience of the nice comfortable bus, pre-booked accomodations and inclusion of some meals.

As regards to your clothing needs, I travel as confidently convenient and comfortable as I can. I'm sure a lot here will advice you to wear capri (based on the clothing queries and replies on this board, it seems like that's what every female American tourist is going to look like in Europe nowadays).

Be aware that Cosmos hotels will probably be away from city centers if that matters to you. Re hotel stays, you tend to get what you pay for. I always remember an inexpensive whirlwind tour I took and one night we were stuck in the middle of nowhere with really no access to a town, nice hotel however. Just check out the location of hotels.

As to clothing I've hit both a heat wave and a cold spell in the Fall. You're better off checking the weather internet sites before you go and packing accordingly. Take a jacket along just in case.

Ezlivin-Sorry I wasn't to clear on clothing question. Mainly wondering it I need to pack equal amount of warm and cold clothing (sweaters, sweatshirts, etc.) or is just a jacket enough? I don't think I will go as every other American tourist with capris. There are other wardrobe choice, I think. Thanks for the advise.

When in the fall? Spetember you would need mixed. late October or November and you will find it cold, especially in the alps.

to answer your other question: Ira "topped" your thread to bring it to the top of the forum.

Topping or ttt (to the top) is just someone adding a post so your thrad doesn't drop too far down the list.

now some advice: You might get better response if you post a new thread with a more detailed title. Something like "need advice about Cosmos tour to Germany/Switzerland"

"Any advise Bus Tours?" could be asking about any sort of tour anywhere in Europe. (I read your thread because I figured you were asking about sightseeing bus tours in London.)
