Amazing Race - May 10

I may be a bad person, but I so much enjoyed watching Monica lose it at the roadblock.

Wow! That fast forward! I don't think I could have eaten that big a bowl of grasshoppers, and I am a big meat eater.

Buh-bye, MoJo! I didn't like them at all, so am not sorry to see them go. Still voting for the hippies, but would also be pleased if Ray and Yolanda won, as I like them too. Looking forward to the finale next week!!

Ew the crickets brought back memories. I was in Thailand a few years ago and on our way to a trek, our guide bought BBQ'd crickets and encouraged us all to eat one. (you know he was totally making fun of us) Anyway way, I did, and took a huge gulp of h2o afterwards... yuck.
Honestley, I like all the teams. The hippies are of course my favs, but I think they're making some stupid mistakes. The frat boys are just cuties and are playing the game well. MoJo also did well, though they chose a tough task. And they got cheated by that taxi driver!! (Though, it didn't effect anything)
Ray and Yolanda, I like them, but they are not the best players... Next week will be interesting- I'll be happy for whomever might win!
Though, it always impresses me. The hippies ALWAYS know a few words in the languages.

Okay, I am furious. I started reading this post not realizing all of you were going to comment on tonight's show that has already aired on the East Coast. I live on the West Coast where it hasn't aired yet. Next time could you wait to make your comments after it has aired across the United States?

Last weeks show had Monica losing it at the roadblock that's why I continued to read the posts until it was too late.

Considering there's been a recap thread after every episode, it should be a pretty reasonable guess that this is it for anyone seeing the header with the date.

Although honestly, I didn't think about the fact it hadn't aired yet on the West Coast, so sorry I gave away the ending.

I got a kick out of BJ wearing the purple pants!!

Those bowls of grasshoppers were RIDICULOUSLY huge - I mean, come on! I can't believe they downed 'em.

What time will the show air next week? Will it start at the normal time and go an extra hour or will it start one hour earlier?

I've been rooting for the hippies since the first 10 minutes of this season. I picked them to win since they were not winded at the top of the hill/stadium that they departed in the opening scene. I do admire their use of the foreign languages. They are having such fun I really want them to win.

Has anyone looked at their myspace page? I've not in a few weeks but a friend is in their buddy list.

Woo-hooo! I was completely routing for Ray & Yolanda to make it to the mat first.

I was pretty tired of the whiney Mo who cried on every task, "this is the HARDEST thing I've done in my life" boohooboohoo.

I'd be happy with Ray & Yolanda winning since they've grown so much in learning how to play the game and now seem to be enjoying themselves more. If it's a footrace to the end, they will take it. I also thought it was big of them to give up something to the Hippies, same with the Frats.

Actually the Frats do deserve to win, since all around they have raced the best (although they may act like pigs at times).

I think the "golden gnome" was a good idea but should have been in one of the earlier legs where coming in first was easier and more teams would have a chance to win a prize. At this late stage if a team comes in first on the mat, they deserve a prize!

As for the fast forward, I can't believe how tough it was. Other fast forwards have been much more mental (something with heights, shave your head, etc.). Bad break for the Hippies and I think it's great they decide to tough it out. If they had abandoned it, they would surely have been eliminated.

Looking forward to the finale in cold climes...hehe

Enjoy-la!

There were a few really funny lines...the hippies were eating the grasshoppers and one said matter o factly.."I thought I ordered Pad Thai"

Also, when Yolanda said that it looked like the frat boys were doing well with the gold leafing....the frat boys said that they gold leafed in their spare time as a hobby...that they have picked up lots of girls gold leafing. That was kind of funny as well.

I was so happy to see Mojo go...but why was I a little choked up by the speach...that always seems to happen even when I hate the team.

The hippies are not playing an agressive game and it looks like it may get them in trouble on the next leg. I am going to be in Tuscany during the final episode so I hope to god my VCR works so I don't miss it.

Thank you so much for the update! Here in Southern Indiana, Amazing Race was covered over by tornado warnings, that really turned into nothing anywhere c lose. We had to listen to the weather forecaster drone on and on, and of course they went back to regular programming as soon as AR was over! They did show it at 1:37am, but I had to sleep. I told my husband someone on here would give me an update. Thanks! I am so glad MoJo is history.

Wow looks like lots of people are rooting for the hippies! I like them b/c they took the time to know a few words in different languages and they are hilarious! Also they are not malicious in any way. Mojo were just downright snotty!Their luck took a turn for the worse immediately after they didn't leave any money to help out the hippies the first time they had their money taken away...don't get me wrong, I don't think that anyone should feel like they HAVE to share their money when someone almost gets eliminated, but just keep your mouth shut and keep going, don't get cocky about it, am I right? I don't feel they deserved to win anything. I was glad they didn't get the golden gnome either.
Cheers to the hippies!!

Glad MoJo are gone, such a whiner she and he was downright rude. Reminds me of some former teams.

With the remaining three, any of them are good to win, as long as they concentrate on the final goal.

Favourite lines last night :

While munching on the grasshoppers and crickets : " Hey ! I though I'd ordered Pad Thai."

Tyler's prophecy : " Mojo have a date with 'not being in the race'. We've had that date twice now, but were stood up ".

The worst food challenge IMO wasn't last night, but in previous seasons when they had to eat bowls full of live baby squids which were crawling out of their mouths as they tried to swallow them, and the 'goulash gourmet' which they repeatedly puked.

I thought that Joseph was surprisingly positive toward Monica when she kept dropping the pots.
Any of the remaining three winning would be OK.
From the preview, it looks as if they finish in the snow country - Alaska maybe?
Hard to believe it's almost over; there have been some good episodes this time.

I cannot stand to watch people eat stuff like that, remember the spicy soup in Russia with the "little person" Myrna a few seasons back? Everyone was puking , I hate that. I am actually wanting Ray and Yolanda to win. I like the more unassuming teams that seems to reamin constant through the whole show. Really looking forward to next week.

I'm sorry Monica and Joseph are gone. They're good racers, for all Monica's lack of confidence. They just made mistakes last night.

I absolutely do not like the Hippies. I will be really pissed off if a team that came in last-twice, and each time on a non-elimination leg, then get lucky with a very badly placed Fast Forward, actually wins. They are not good racers, not nice people and they've seriously overstayed their welcome on my tv.

I'd like Eric & Jeremy to win, but I won't mind if Raylanda get there first, though they're just lucky to be in the final three.

So nice to wave "bye-bye" to the Mojo! Will not miss their faces AT ALL! UGH! Such a snotty, whinny, rude, and snarky pair. I just could not take another minute of Monica's over the top crying another second.

BJ/Tyler - what can ya say? Disgusting Fast Forward, but they held onto it. And did anyone else notice that BJ had on a pair of jeans at the end of the show? Where did those come from? Gotta love 'em! Maybe not the best racers, but lucky all the same. Their enthusiasm is wonderful to watch.

I even had to admit liking Eric and Jeremy. I thought it showed character to leave the sandals for BJ, and the comments at the temple while goldleafing the buddha were actually engaging and not "piggish." They just seemed more likeable last night.

I'm really liking Ray and Yolanda, though. They just seem to be concentrating on their race and what they need to accomplish. Yet, they still seem to be having fun while they are doing it. And last night when Ray went to hug Yoland, it seemed that all was truly right between them. I'm really hoping this couple has a deeper relationship! I was so very happy when they got the "golden gnome!"

And now I have to figure out how to record next week's finale! I will be traveling next week, and there will be NO TV! (How did I manage that??) Oh well, better late than never!

I do not like the hippies and hope they lose. IMHO, they are malicious with good acting skills. The Florida boys are really good racers and probably deserve to win this one. They remind me of Army grunts sometimes, the way they put their heads down and plow on- but just hated when they cancelled the others' cabs on the last legs.

I'm all for Ray and Yolanda. And overall I think this race was very tough. The digging in sand, this fast forward etc. all very tough. I just hope the hippies don't win.
