A word to the wise from one who screwed up, be sure to back up your internet favorites...
My primary computer crashed this week-end. While I was primariy concerned about the possible loss of all of my work things (which would have been a real disaster, I also started thinking about all the travel bookmarks I've accumulated over the years. I was crushed when I thought of the weeks of surfing it would take me to even begin to replace all that I had bookmarked for possible trips.
Thank God my husband is a computer whiz and fanatic. He pretty regularly backs up my things for me so I would be protected from losing my work related things. But, I never thought to ask him if he was backing up my internet favorites. Now, after 3 days of spending all his free time trying to fix it, most things are reinstalled and working again. If it weren't for him, I'd be dead.
So, all in all, do yourself a huge favor, and back up all of these travel related sites that you would regret losing. After all this hassle, he just bought an external hard drive rather than screwing around with the zip disks we'd been relying on in the past.

One way of making sure your favorites will always be available is to save them on mybookmarks.com. It is free and easy to do. That way they will always be saved and you can also access them from any computer anywhere.
