A train ride with a difference

Something a lot of visitors might not get the time for, but an experience to try if you think you've done everything before - a trip on a heritage steam railway, in this case the Watercress Line, which is easily reached by train from Waterloo.

That is neat about the staff in period clothes and children reenacting the evacuation.

I haven't ridden the Watercress Line, but have several others -- the Kent & East Sussex, the North Yorkshire Moors, the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch and a couple of others.

A steam train ride has been on my list of top things I'd like to experience. Thanks for posting!

Very nice report, Patrick. A more relaxing day out than some that are non-stop rushing around. And beautiful weather for the trip.
