5 days Prague is Cesky Krumlov worth an overnight stay?
Me and my husband are doing last end of a europe trip in Prague for 5 nights. We will be traveling from Berlin. Do you think its worth it to see Cesky Krumlov overnight? I have read alot about the town and it looks like a place I would like. Also any suggestions on when we should do the trip.
Arriving on Friday from Berlin to Prague We have from Sat to Wed to break up our time in prague and Wednesday we need to be at prague Airport to head back to NYC flight t at 9am.
Any suggestions on if we should do the CK trip in middle and check in and out of hotels in Prague or in the very beginning but thought might be too tired from train from Berlin. Please suggest.
Also was thinking of renting car and driving ourselves prague to CK and maybe on way stop in Třeboň on way back or some other cute must see town to break up trip. Open to as much suggestions as you have.
Thanks so much

Cesky Krumlov can get very crowded with tons of daytrippers. If you like to experience the town without them, it would be a good idea to sleep there.
BTW: I suppose you know Dresden (just between Berlin and Prague) already; a place much more worth to see than Krumlov IMHO.

No, I would never consider doing that if you only have 5 days in Prague, to spend 2 of them to visit CK basically (depending how you intend to travel to/from that location). If you go by train it takes longer as it isn't direct, and then you uare outside the town. There is a bus, I think (I went by tour bus just for a day trip so didn't have to worry).
It's just a small town, not sure why you'd want to do that. I could understand it better if it were on your way somewhere else. What do you think is going to be so great there that you'd give up 2 days out of your 5 days in Prague?

It's about 2.5 hours driving each way but that's after you get your rental car and get out of Prague so I would allow at least an hour additional on the way to CK plus the same on the return.
CK is totally over-hyped. It's a cute town if you're in the area but not worth a special trip and not worth leaving Prague. It's full of day trippers, especially around the castle, and dead at night (as many small towns are).
You only have 4 days in Prague. If you think that's too much then stop in Dresden, as advised above.
