Seabourn Made a Big Mistake for April 2017 Asia cruise
Really, Seabourn???? the one day DMZ tours are not offered is the day the ship gets into Seoul! Monday, April 10.
That's like sailing into London and Big Ben is closed, visiting paris and The Louvre is closed. Who's the brain who did this itinerary.
Paul Goodwin is Chief revenue Officer. If you care enough, write him and tell him the displeasure. They change itineraries all the time! How can they bring their guests to a place where the most important destination is closed.

I suggest you write.they alter itineraries all the time. They are guilty of deceptive advertising. Someone will book, looking at what is being offered and Seabourn lists the DMZ tour, noting it is closed Mondays. So why post it if it is NOT available.THEY know the itineraries.
The often change itineraries mid cruise.It is 178 nautical miles from previous port of Busan to Seoul. At 26MPH top speed, they can leave Busan as planned at 6PM and get into Seoul by 3 AM Sunday, April 9, when they can actually offer cruisers what they promised. Not likely. They rarely listen. Good thing there are options for other lines.

Unless someone reading this thread is actually on that particular cruise next year, I doubt you will get anyone here to write to Seabourn. I certainly have no interest.
If you want other passengers on that cruise to know about the issue, join cruisecritic.com and then join the roll call for that specific cruise. Post the info there.

A ship stopping at a Port of Call where major points of interest are closed that particular day is not all that unusual. It happens at one time or another with just about every cruise line. Ships keep to a certain schedule and sometimes they arrive a a Port of Call on a major holiday or on a Sunday or some other day when places are closed. It's either make a stop or by-pass that PoC and sail onward.

I have been to South Korea (for 12 days), and will be returning this fall (for 16 days). I have not visited the DMZ and do not intend to. There are plenty of other things to see in and around Seoul, I see no reason to treat an active war zone as a tourist attraction.

Personally I would go tot he DMZ if I ever got the chance. I have seen pics and videos and to me its worth it. However for me its not worth writing to any cruise company to change their itinerary to include it.
